We wanted to let you know that we had the most wonderful week here in Beach Cottage. The Cottage is so comfortable and well kitted out; just perfect for a staycation. The garden areas were so colourful and well maintained. We fell in love with the view of Aisla Craig and the area around. The weather was kind so we spent a lot of time outside, walking and enjoying the views. We would not hesitate to recommend Ballantrae Cottages.

Fisherman’s Cottage Reviews
I just wanted to tell you what a wonderful experience I had staying in the Old Fisherman’s Cottage last month. The cottage and the it’s décor are so beautiful and it created such a peaceful space for my visit. I’ve never felt more relaxed and at ease in my entire life. The people in the town are all very friendly. One of the ladies at the Scotmid market helped me gather ingredients to make a soup. And Caroline rushed down immediately when I had a question about how to lock the front door correctly. I felt safe and peaceful the entire time. I wanted to thank you again for allowing me to check in early on arrival and to stay later on my day of departure. I so much appreciated your understanding and consideration. I very much hope to return (maybe next year) and stay again in your beautiful cottage….it felt like home far away from home. Thank you Emma!

Windyknowe Reviews
It doesn’t get any better than this. Our group of eleven rented both Castlehill and Windyknowe which sit side-by-side in an elevated position overlooking the River Stinchar, gardens, green pastures and a far-reaching view of the sea. There is a winding path through the lush gardens between the houses. (though not suitable for those with mobility issues.) Both houses have fantastic, well-equipped kitchens (an aga in Windyknowe) and bathrooms that make you want to take them home with you. Beautiful decors throughout. These properties are top notch. Highly recommended. Again, many thanks!!!

Beautiful location, with a lovely 15 min walk along the river to the sea. A clean, cost and homely feeling cottage. Perfect for dogs and an elderly relative as all but 2 bedrooms on the ground floor and easily accessible. Also great for exploring the fantastic Ayrshire coast.

Stinchar Cottage Reviews
It’s a short walk to a lovely shingle beach and handy for great day trips to Ayr, Portpatrick and loads of other places. Would love to come back when the Kings Arms is fully up and running!

What a find! Absolutely lovely cottage, the photos don’t do it justice. Lovely comfortable living room with kindling already in the stove ready for us to light, which we did with a glass of red in hand! All the necessary equipment in the kitchen and a lovely vase of fresh flowers to welcome us. Would definitely highly recommend this place.

This cottage is beautifully maintained, and very comfortable. The setting is right next to the river, with lovely garden, walks and wildlife. The sea is a short walk away . It is next to the road, but this matters little. We loved it here, and would absolutely recommend it for couples or a family ( kids old enough to be safe on the upper floor accessible by ladder) . So relaxing, and a definite recommend for a getaway.
