Sleeps 6-7

Windyknowe has been beautifully redecorated in March 2014 and the house is furnished and equipped to a high standard.

It sits in a lovely large garden which is well-maintained and contains many mature shrubs and trees and is positioned high on a bank above the quiet lane which winds alongside the River Stinchar. The house occupies a wonderful position and has a fabulous large and bright reception room with log fire, a south-facing bay window and doors to the veranda.

The large kitchen has a cosy atmosphere with four-oven Aga and dining table in the bay window overlooking the river. There are three good-sized bedrooms each with modern en-suite bath and shower rooms and there is space for a seventh person in a single room off one of the upstairs bedrooms (this is an optional extra for an additional £100).

This large house on the edge of the village of Ballantrae is very spacious and has a deep sunny veranda with a magnificent view of the surrounding countryside, the river and the sea.

It has been thoughtfully decorated and makes a wonderful place for a holiday with plenty of space for everyone.

It doesn't get any better than this. Our group of eleven rented both Castlehill and Windyknowe which sit side-by-side in an elevated position overlooking the River Stinchar, gardens, green pastures and a far-reaching view of the sea. There is a winding path through the lush gardens between the houses. (though not suitable for those with mobility issues.) Both houses have fantastic, well-equipped kitchens (an aga in Windyknowe) and bathrooms that make you want to take them home with you. Beautiful decors throughout. These properties are top notch. Highly recommended. Again, many thanks!!!

VICKI PATON - 20-28 MAY 2017

Fabulous week, fabulous home! Sure to be returning again in the future. Thank you for thinking about every detail of provision for your guests and providing quality.

We came and stayed at Castlehill & Windyknowe for our wedding at Glenapp Castle. Everything has been AMAZING. The accommodation has been exceptional, more than we could have ever imagined. It has made the long trip up here worth every minute. Thank you all.
