Sleeps 10

Originally built in the late 1930s when Ballantrae was a thriving holiday village Castlehill has been recently modernised to an incredibly high standard, it retains some of the thirties architectural features and has some simply stunning sea and river views. The house has been furnished with great taste and style in modern colours with an eclectic mix of old and new.

The fabulous kitchen has granite worktops, comfy sofa, doors to a small patio with gorgeous views, two dishwashers, two ovens, large gas hob, American fridge/freezer, TV and a dining table for twelve making it a wonderful spot for entertaining, cooking, dining, relaxing and having fun.

The large sitting room has a perfect atmosphere with really comfortable sofas, TV, log fire and a selection of books and games as well as wonderful views. The bedrooms are extremely comfortable with White Company linen and plenty of homely touches.

There is a large terraced garden with shrubs and lawn, a small terrace accessed from the kitchen and stunning views from the paved area above the cottage.

Castlehill is the perfect holiday cottage for a group of friends and family.

It doesn't get any better than this. Our group of eleven rented both Castlehill and Windyknowe which sit side-by-side in an elevated position overlooking the River Stinchar, gardens, green pastures and a far-reaching view of the sea. There is a winding path through the lush gardens between the houses. (though not suitable for those with mobility issues.) Both houses have fantastic, well-equipped kitchens (an aga in Windyknowe) and bathrooms that make you want to take them home with you. Beautiful decors throughout. These properties are top notch. Highly recommended. Again, many thanks!!!

VICKI PATON - 20-28 MAY 2017

We came and stayed at Castlehill & Windyknowe for our wedding at Glenapp Castle. Everything has been AMAZING. The accommodation has been exceptional, more than we could have ever imagined. It has made the long trip up here worth every minute. Thank you all.

A grand New Year had by all. Booked Castlehill after having a great time at Beach Cottage. We all loved the house, wonderful views and walks. Our dog had a ball, we hope to be back soon.
